Revitalizing Downtown
These videos were shot and edited by myself and classmate, Kristin Foster for an Advanced Visual Journalism class project at Western Washington University. The video was produced as part of a full class website titled 48 Degrees North, that feature stories about downtown Bellingham, developed during spring quarter 2016.
In recent years, downtown Bellingham has started the process of revitalization with the help of local businesses and organizations. Playing vital roles in this revitalization are Daylight Properties who restores and manages historical buildings in the downtown area and The Downtown Bellingham Partnership fosters a stronger sense of community by serving as the downtown neighborhood association, putting on events throughout the year and working to beautify the area.

Green Broke
This video was shot and edited by myself and two of my classmates, Kristin Foster and Keely Killebrew, all Visual Journalism students at Western Washington University. The video was produced for Western’s Digital Media in Journalism class during winter quarter 2016.
This video profiles a Montana-grown cowboy, Chase Hill, and his wife, Beth, who give us insight into the “magic” of the equine language. As Chase develops his relationship with a new horse, we see how his special techniques create a whole new language of learning. Between the raindrops and hoof beats, we watch a story of perseverance, beauty, and communication develop, unmasking the magic between a patient cowboy and his equine partner.
